Ridiculous! As of Nov 3rd 34% of the ratings are "1" and 40% of the ratings are "10". Clearly people are trying to influence this show up or down with bogus ratings. It is probably really a 4, 5, or 6 show.

The series starts with (exactly?) 4400 people returning from various times in the past. Being wary the authorities keep them under what looks a lot like an arrest. It may turn out the mysterious time travel may just be a gimmick to create drama. For example the woman who was taken away when her daughter was a baby but now, 16 years later, her daughter is a teenager and her husband is remarried. However it does create interesting situations but it is too bad so many commercials break the continuity. For example I timed 4 minutes and 15 seconds of commercials, followed by 6 minutes and 15 seconds of program. That is a pretty big demand on the viewer.

For those who may not know, there was a 2004 TV series of the same name, "4400", its description states, "As the reappearance of 4,400 missing persons on a single day confounds the global community, federal agents on the case slowly discover the ways in which the victims have been changed." That series has a 7.3 of 10 rating on IMDb, pretty good, so it seems we should give this one a chance.

The approach has merit, it has the makings of an entertaining series. I watched the first couple of episodes but it didn't draw me in. The whole thing just seems too nebulous, not much to latch on to and either root for or root against. I likely have quit watching it, too many other choices and too little time.

It is a long time and many shows later since I watched the original 4400 series. I did not find this less interesting or engaging. It is by no means a high budget production with A-Level stars and can not and should not be rated by that standard. It is however totally watchable light entertainment with characters that I already am intrigued by and care for and an unfolding and twisty storyline that is gradually unfolding at a good pace. Tjhe cast thus far have me believin..... That is good enough for me.....

I deducted one star for those somewhat stereotypical abusive cops but maybe I shouldn't watching recent footage on the Australian streets and elsewhere....... the real world at the moment far exceeds this made up storyline in inappropriate coercian........

Now I will say my wife and were laughing at the beginning where they immediately checked boxes. Interracial couple. Gay interracial couple. Possible interracial couple with Asian person. But once we got past the snickering I must say that the show is fairly entertaining. Nowhere on the level of the original but with only one ep in it could definitely improve. As many gave stated Hollywood really needs to take a step back and stop pandering to a few and continuously lose viewers with their woke agenda. It's too bad since we never had a resolution with the original and looking at the score here; this show won't be lasting too long. However since the CW only needs a couple dozen viewers to renew a show.........Will be interesting to see why minorities are being sent back and given powers? To usurp the white man?? Back to laughing again. Still we were engaged enough for now to see where this goes.

Endless dialog fallowing a script that favors pseudo plot since nothing that dull can lead to enterteining. Its a drag. If something travels time, the contact persons would not be a street cop, or the average mind. Doh!

'The 4400' was a really good show for the first season, and it went downhill pretty quickly after production became too involved and pushed for changes. This reboot titled simply '4400" is a bit like the 3rd season of 'The 4400'... poor story-telling, terrible direction, uninteresting cast, and a trial-by-error mystery tour. Ariana Jackson, the producer and writer of such unoriginal stories as the 'Lethal Weapon' TV series, and the pessimistic dramatization of Archie Comics with 'Riverdale' - is rifling through everybody else's character builds & dialogue. It's basically the same deconstructed social narratives that's been pushed down people throats for 2 decades. The modern liberal ideologies that even most liberals can't identify with. This '4400' is a stretched out plot better suited as YouTube clips, or a dark 'Saved By The Bell' Screech spin-off. This was a dull waste of time. I think the CW desperately needs to change its direction; they've been telling the same stories through several individual shows, and recycling the same character personalities. Go back to the drawing board and rethink how the original 'The 4400' started and how it failed. Try learning from the experience, because I'm exhausted and terribly sad form anyone that continues to make this garbage.

First it was Melrose Place, then Charmed and Roswell, and now this... Another CW bad reboot.

What am I watching? And why was this even greenlit to begin with?

The original 4400 series was amazing, and hooked you in from the start. It wasn't perfect, but it was clever and original in its own way. This? What the heck is this?

Just finished episode 2 and I am not watching anymore... It actually makes me wanna watch the original again. And I'll do just that.

And I'm loving this one as well. I'm sure it's getting bad reviews for one reason. And we all know the reason. Cuz some people can't handle anything involving poc or LGBTQIA. They feel like it's shoved down their throat. Don't watch then and make bad reviews cuz you don't like what you see.

Make no mistake, as this can't be a mistake, this has not been made to entertain people, because almost no one will enjoy this & the groups supposedly represented here mostly think this is stupid as well.

This has been cast & written in a way specifically to irritate the & 'other' & anger the viewer, wow, that's entertainment now folks!!!

The original & rather entertaining 4400 was cancelled way before its time, let's hope & pray a similar & hopefully swifter fate awaits this bilge.

A black hole of stars, ie none!

This show is racist, but the opposite of what you might expect.

Almost the entire cast are 'African American,' and the white guards are sterotyped mean for no reason bullies.

This show is clearly created for a black audience, and designed to generate anger at the bad treatment of these 4400 by their white 'captors.'

If you feel like a victim, and you want to watch a show that will confirm your feelings, this is it.

Weak, weak, weak. So they hit us with the checklist right away.

There is so much that is sad about this pitiful pilot. Actors? Where? I see some wanna be actors who have a lot of training to do.

Plot? Good grief, Charlie Brown. The storylines are mere whispers of what they could have been.

I am not going to waste anymore of my precious lifetime writing about this sad excuse for a scifi series. This version of the 4400 is a Nitwit show.

technusgirl 26 October 2021

The first episode was really great, it really captures the idea of the original series so far. I was really disappointed when they original series was cancelled and was excited for this reboot and am not disappointed.

Sadly I am disappointed in the blatant racism I'm seeing from other reviewers here, but am not surprised. I didn't even notice that most of the main characters were black, but unfortunately people here feel the need to point that out as tokenism. I'm sorry, but do you realize that most other shows have had a mostly white characters before? Now we're going to cry about having mostly black people in the show? Give me a break. I happen to be white too and was completely unbothered by this.
