Watchseries; Maybe its me, but during the entire show I seriously begun questioning my sanity. Am I autistic? Am I a sociopath? Do I read peoples facial expressions wrong? Was I always like this? Why can't I figure out what Derby is feeling and thinking?
Somehow Derby has this surprised, shocked but at the same time disgusted look on her face, she is constantly staring at something or someone as if she has just discovered that the entire universe is a lie and we all live in a simulation, even the music is mysterious and yet BANG nothing special is happening. Based on Derby's facial expressions and body language I felt like there is a big secret, mystery or conspiracy theory and I am the only one not getting it!! Super frustrating!!

A Murder at the End of the World watchseries. This show is extremely slow paced. I am seeing a lot of high reviews here and am wondering to myself if these people saw the same show that I just did? I would not give this show anything higher than a 6/10, but. 5 seems more fitting.
The protagonist a young woman with "modern" outlooks on things. Her bright pink hair and pixie cut is a unique look. The story and writing are disappointing to me as I don't like a super slow story drawn out with lots of exposition about activists, but thats what this is. I imagine this may appeal to a very small portion of the potential audience.
I gave it a shot with the first few episodes and have decided to bail after that. The pace was too slow, I feel like the plot hasn't much developed as I still don't know exactly where they are going with this story as there seems to be multiple threads. There are multiple points in the story where it takes a turn that made no sense to me. For example the protagonists boyfriend leaves her and the reason he did he left scrawled on the mirror in the bathroom? It said I am leaving because its too much while not being enough- what does that even mean? Why did he leave and how does this reason do anything except confuse the viewer? 5/10.

Near the beginning of this very, very long show, the main character leaves her loft to go on a long trip. When she does, she leaves her front door wide open -- the camera lingers a little too long so we can see that not only does she not shut it, she doesn't look back. Tiny detail but it's indicative of the whole show. The people who put this together just didn't care about making it work. There are sloppy moments throughout, continuity errors that by themselves don't mean much, but when they pile up, they reveal a team that just didn't care. And it shows.
On top of that, the writing is just abysmal. Every possible cliche, every possible awkward conversation: the writers don't miss a one. On top of that, when the characters talk to each other, they actually are talking to the viewer; they're constantly explaining their pasts and their motivations, not as a real convo but as a way for the viewer to understand the beleaguered plot.
The acting isn't much either, although given the bad dialog the actors gave to deal with, perhaps no one could have pulled these lines off.
All in all, with so many good shows out there, this one is just a prolonged waste of time.

It's perplexing to see high scores attached to the first episode of this series, especially when compared to other movies that are so much better. The initial promise established in the first five minutes quickly dwindles as the show unfolds, leaving audiences questioning the basis for such elevated praise.
The narrative, which proves to be both uninteresting and agonizingly slow.
The show initially captivates its audience with a talented ensemble and a promising plotline, but the narrative takes an unexpected detour into the realm of technology, resulting in a jarring shift towards absurdity. What was meant to be a gripping murder mystery veers off course and unintentionally transforms into a comedy, altogether abandoning any semblance of maintaining a serious tone. The deliberate pacing, intended to establish a slow and methodical atmosphere, fails to achieve its desired effect. Instead of generating tension and raising the stakes, it comes across as excessively pretentious. The storytelling lacks the necessary substance to justify such a plodding pace, leaving viewers grappling with an experience that feels more haughty than truly engaging.
The show's attempt to feed the audience inaccurate information adds to the frustration, underestimating the intelligence of its viewers. The result is an inexplicably slow narrative that fails to captivate, leaving audiences questioning the value of their time invested. In the end, what started with potential ultimately succumbs to a pacing misstep, making it difficult to overlook the series' shortcomings.

Such a great cast. An a wonderful setting, in Iceland. But good God, Darby is an irritating character, and they spend much too much time dwelling on her mournful eyes as she works her way up to her next dumb move, and not enough time on the plot.
The entire series is devoted to plumbing the depths of Darby's character as she tries to stay ahead of the killer. Only problem is, she has no depths. Just those mournful eyes and a frail body.
It's a shame to see such a great cast so underused.
This series is a draft, and needed a lot more editing. The acting can't overcome the bad writing.
Watch it for the scenery, the lush production values. It's enough to make me want to go to Iceland. But don't watch it for the plot or the characters.

Not only is she absolutely an idiot who says and does the dumbest thing possible at any given moment, she has zero other personality traits to make up for what a terrible character she is. I'm not sure if it's the actress portraying her or the incompetence of the directors, but this girl has one expression and it is "furled brow, shocked Pikachu."
this show could work if maybe the supporting cast was mildly interesting, but none of them has any personality either. They're all just pretty much wooden set dressing with the occasional spoken line or two. Just to remind the audience that they exist.
It's beyond dull, it's entirely uninteresting and is just a nonstop barrage of inept filmmaking wrapped around a wasted premise. Bad editing, bad directing, bad writing. Zero redeeming qualities here.
