Okay, so I admit to hanging in there and watching a total of the three (3) first episodes before posting my review just in case this so called comedy series improved. The entire cast is reflective of any majority run government or municipal government that continues to make knee jerk reactions that have horrible results for the people they serve and with costs that are hidden such as the twenty (20) million dollars Payne Motors CEO Katherine Hastings (Ana Gasteyer) received as a signing bonus.

I don't believe Ana Gasteyer has the ability to lead a TV comedy series if American Auto is to be successful. The series format vaguely tries to imitate (2005) The Office and/or (2015) Superstore with off the cuff cast rebuttals and a "save your own skin" business style.

The characters all work for a company called Payne Motors and I think the company should be rebranded as "PAIN MOTORS". I give the series a hard to watch 2 out of 10 IMDb rating.

Don't waste your time, this is a multiple car crash waiting to happen.

I tried to watch this, and it was so deadly boring and unfunny that I went channel surfing during commercials. I ended up watching a documentary about cancer. The humor of the cancer patients was funnier than the characters on this show.

I feel guilty giving them a low rating since they are trying to do something that can rarely be done well. "The Office" is probably the only recent example where someone succeeded in this genre. The line between satire and drama, between foolish and funny is a thin one. This show didn't make it for me, but I applaud everyone for trying.

I guess I'm in the minority after glancing at a few reviews which all seem to be negative but I thought it was pretty funny.

I'm excited to see Ana Gasteyer back on TV because I think she's funny as hell and underrated. I was pleasantly surprised to see Michael Benjamin who was one of my favorite parts of 30 Rock when he played Tracy's bastard son, Donald even though they were the same age.

How can all these so called reviewers give one or two stars after only two episodes ??

Just imagine "The Office" being transplanted to an auto company and you have the show. Bur, unlike "The Office" none of the characters are likeable...I did not find myself for rooting for any of them...they were mostly all annoying. Combine all of this with quick fast cutting and an annoying shaky hand held camera you have a show that creates a very unpleasant experience.

Bad idea, scripts are worse than that, acting is non existent and there is nothing funny about this flop. Fortunately there is the handy remote control to change the channel quickly.

2 episodes in. Quick, snappy lines, great diversity of characters and behaviour. Laughed out loud at the way Woke and political correctness is parodied. Obviously plenty of you don't get that, based on the other reviews. It's a comedy. A great comedy.

Just because I loved Superstore show, I decided to give this a try but after 5 minutes of watching some unfunny and unlikeable characters I started watching another show. If you don't know, the creator of this show gave the idea of this sitcom to NBC before Superstore was released and NBC rejected it and because Superstore was a big hit, NBC gave this idea a chance. I might try this show again but not anytime soon.

socrfan-80182 1 January 2022

Superstore was funny. This feels like a bunch of disjointed ideas tossed together hoping something positive comes out. The characters aren't somebody I would care about. Nope, its not funny.

ericapolitica 10 January 2022

Okay, the one guy is basically Andy from the office, and the sexual innuendos, which were never funny, are also recycled. I don't be watching. It's very unoriginal and unfunny.

Just another low hanging fruit "comedy"

with repetitive poor humor, a weak cast

of nobodies, and false network claims.

There are much better comedies on tv

with actors and actresses who got the

job because of talent, not the color of

their skin.
