Watchseries; Now I realised why this was on the alibi channel . This was very very poor . I cauld not get use to her talking to camera. Thought this was going to be as good as taggert. But no way was it . Also turned it off after 20 min . Shame . It's the lowest score I've ever given .

Annika watchseries. If you like a crime drama that's not taxing on the mind and the lead star is somewhat of a fox then watch it but get past episode 3 at least. There are many worse programs about, I need more Nicola Walker!!
Found this witty and engaging - and a refreshing take on a detective drama. Love the unique aspect of "chats" to camera and the natural kind of humour between characters.
So great to have a detective with some character that isn't just drinking at the pub and disappointing the missus. Norwegian folk lore and Classics education a very nice change.
Others have said they don't like the main character addressing the camera and I found it off-putting the first time. Turns out to be a clever device allowing us access to her complicated inner world.
The relationships seem real instead of forced and there is just enough mystery to hold the hour. Any longer and it would flounder.
Loved it. Really hoping for a Season 2 (and yes, in our house we've seen pretty much everything with Nicola Walker, forever known as Ruth here).
Regardless of the 'talking to camera' idea which is strange, the weirdest thing about this show is the Scandinavian weirdness.
I don't know anything about the drama it's based on but I can only assume it's in a Scandinavian setting. However this show is based in Scotland and features a patently obvious English lead actress so why on earth give her a Scandinavian name and have her constantly talking about Norse mythology? Episode 2 was particularly weird because there was more focus on Norse mythology and viking runes than the actual crime and in the end it had no relevance whatsoever to the murder so I've no idea why it was included except that the producers were just pandering to the creators of the source material.
It just doesn't gel. They need to drop all the Scandinavian mythology stuff and focus on the crime solving, then it would work much better.
Where have I seen this before. Quirky, single-parent policeman trying to cope with a new challenge whilst coping with an absolutely stereotype sulking teenage child alongside the demands of the job. Add in poor dialogue, flat acting and the ridiculous quirk of occasionally talking to the camera and this is disappointing fare. Nothing new on offer at all.
