The first 3/4 of the show seemed to be silly soapy drama in the mountains... the teenage girls inviting trouble like fools...the girlfight ...silly.But then, in what seemed like a casual exchange, the entire dynamic and direction of the show changed...now the way evil lurks in the seemingly benign corners of a given community, the additional layer of mystery we didn't expect and the terrifying danger of those victimized makes this a show to watch. I think it will only get better from here.
Geez people I don't think anyone made it to the end of the episode before calling it garbage. Give it a shot and then decide! The acting was subpar at best but by the end I was hooked because I want to know what's going to happen and isn't that the point of a show?! If you don't care about the story then don't watch, but at least watch the entire episode before judging it
As far as the overall production goes, the pilot was well directed, has a nice country setting, and great cinematography. Casting and performances are excellent, and it's good to see John Carroll Lynch and Ragnar Lothbrok's wife in Vikings, Katheryn Winnick. I'm hoping this series doesn't have too many melodramatics mixed in with soap-opera romances, and sticks to the story at hand. The ending was certainly a surprise and leaves an entirely new dynamic from the initially perceived plot-line. I'll adjust my review and rating if need be as the season progresses. So for the pilot, it's an 8/10 from me.
I expected a decent show, given the cast, but was sadly disappointed. Character-wise the cliches are beyond cliched, the actions and decisions incomprehensibly stupid, the dialog...I can't find the adjective...insipid would be way too kind. Again, no offense to the actors, I doubt anyone could do much better with that writing.
Claustrophobic, repetitive. Every episode is much like the other. You could probably watch 1 out of 3 episodes and not miss much. As far removed from Kelley's best series as Montana's east and west borders are from each other. My rating is charitable.
Really couldn't even tell you what happened in episode 2 to be honest. It's a forgettable show! I'm the middle of episode 3. The show is POORLY written. Character Grace is one of the better actress than most on this so called entertainment. UNBELIEVABLE some of the things that happen. At this point the writers might as well make this an even more campy shallow story. No depth to this at all. I doubt I will waste anymore of my time that I will never get back watching anymore. There are FAR better series out there. Check out "The Queens Gambit". PHENOMENAL show!!!!!!
Yikes!!! 3rd episode in and things are worse. The writing is inherently awful and sophomoric- it's just SO bad it's startling. The acting - oof.... probably worst I've seen in a long time.Is no one watching the dailies on this? It could not have gone unnoticed.Moving on...
