If you have seen Undekhi you know what director is capable of.
But he falls short this time.
Each episode brings in twist.
Great performances, but just a decent story.
Few things are illogical & few over the top. Richa screams as always
PS : 10k ratings & 1k reviews : Voot has definitely PAID a lot of money to get this show as one of top rated :)
Sub-standard dialogues screenplay and direction. Why people have rated it 10 i don't understand . It doesn't deserve more than 5 . So cliche and awful direction .... Disappointed with Ronit Roy watched it for him .
Good story. Great locations. Very atmospheric. But also very poor acting by both the leads. Richa Chadda cannot act (i thought she could) Seeing her talk like a DSP was a cringefest. Her chase scene with the barber (drug peddlers) ruined my night. Ronit acting was painful to watch but still he was rhe least worst from the whole crew. One time watch. I wouldn't pay for this series.
I guessed who Masan was by the 3rd or 4th episode... normally I can never guess correctly. Other than that, lot of illogical parts. The main ones I will not give away to spoil the suspense, but Masterji is never teaching or in class, not sure why the inspector was killed etc.
The series is so superficial and wanna be.
All back stories, characters and subplots are just templates picked from other shows and movies. Ranaut is Ramadheer singh. The teacher couple has the same story of having lost a child, going through issues like a dozen other series.
The young actors are so bad, they just can't act.
From Voot, I was expecting something on a similar level as Asur, but this is #Cringemax.
After ASUR voot delivered a masterpiece. It will keep you ongoing till the end.
Ye kya bawaseer bana diya be?
Dsp is having a relation with a drug dealer If bad acting have a name then I am sure it will be Richa Chaddha.
A complete non-sense show. Apart from Ronit roy, richa chaddha and the MLA, all the other actors are very average along with lots of over actors.
What could have a good thriller and a great series ends up disappointing you. If you have seen other thrillers like asur, you might might find some similarities but all goes in vain as the series progresses. Just give this one a miss. Reviews here looks fake.
Nothing new to see here. From the first episode you already knew the suspects. I think the ones giving this 9* have consumed the "Candy". Ronit Roy was good in his role, but didn't really have much to show for it. The supporting cast were pretty good, it just the plot was just bare.
I liked the concept, Superb direction and story. Visuals at its best. Highly recommended hats off to everyone in this series just awesome.
Candy is a suspense, murder, supernatural show directed by ashish r rai. Here r the positives and negatives:
Acting:while some actors hv absolutely nailed it but some hv disappointed me as well. Ronit roy is mind blowing. A suffering father and husband has been so aptly portrayed. Manu rishi chadda shines throughout. Whenever he comes on screens he just nails it. A strong screen presence. Riddhi kumar is so pretty and talented. She has given an earnest performance. Now coming to the disappointments. Richa chadda was so unconvincing in her role. She just could not fit herself into the cop role. Nakul sahdev as well was hit and miss. His scenes with richa chadda are so flat. Gopal dutt just took me by storm in the last episode. The supporting cast did their job well.
Bgm:the bgm was intriguing and even haunting in some sequences. Something unique to be honest. The theme music is also good.
Cinematography:the cinematography is brilliant. The scenic locations hv been used so wonderfully. Even fog plays an important part in the show.
Screenplay:the screenplay is moderate. Towards the beginning it takes it time to build the characters. But as it progresses it takes firm hold of the audiences' attention.
Writing:the writing is good to be honest. Towards the end it just flourishes. In the last episode the writing is top notch.
Climax:the climax is so so so good. It has some bewildering twists. Also it sets it up for a season 2 wonderfully. The climax makes it worth a watch.
Overall it is ashish r rai's third work. And to be honest he is a brilliant director. He has proved it in all three of them. Looking forward to his upcoming projects. I rate it 8 out of 10.
