Watchseries; Four episodes in, I'm perplexed by the negative reviews (probably a bunchof Gen Z and Millens hooked on ancient fantasy nonsense). Yes, there's lots of smoking (and drinking and other things). That's what went on in the 70's. What we also have incredible chemistry between the characters and a glimpse into a culture that seemed only a dream for working class garage band kids growing up in the 70's, it's fascinating to see the music industry from the perspective of pre-computer musicians who only wanted to have fun and jam real music and showed (at least on stage and creatively) little interest in the goings on in the outside world. Daisy is a talented, yet free spirited loner wild child on a path to self destructive addiction; Billy is an intense and conflicted genius, as he tries to balance his family life with the RnR lifestyle. It's clear they can't live with, or without, each other. The entire band is somewhat of a disfunctional family, but they are family. It has a soap opera feel, emotions are expressed in song. Looking forward to the continuation of the series.

Daisy Jones and The Six watchseries. I wonder how it got 8!?! I could only watch episode and I got super bored in the middle , found it impossible to go further . The story and the characters are not interested, the music is weak ... same old story of a band struggling ,trying to figure things out and hitting the big time ..... what was the genre even ? Docu_drama-bullsh** ?

Ok. The only reason i was curious to watch this was to see the grand daughter of you know who, act and sing. The discovery was ok. The rest of it... take the sappy music and somewhat vintage clothing out of the show and you have a cookie cutter Hollywood formulae story like i have seen so many times over the past 10 years. Originality is dead in Hollywood. Its either remakes, reboots, sequels, adaptations of best selling novels (not Pulitzer level stories) and exhumations of old pop culture stereotypes for the fake sake of nostalgia. But a young viewer cannot experience nostalgia, only people who experienced first hand the era. And those people have make a more educated and true judgement of this period piece full of pretention.

This show is beyond predictable. But to be fair, so was the book, which I enjoyed. I'm enjoying the show as well, but I'm ashamed of myself for it. Really not very good, but it's quite a nostalgic trip for someone who was at UCLA during this time span. The fact that "young Billy" looks to be the same age as Billy 20 years later is distracting for me. I'm only through first 2 episodes. Not sure if I'll finish it. Acting is fine, original music not terribly interesting. The book had an interesting hook that I don't see happening in the film. I'm trudging onto episode 3. I'll let you know if it gets better.

This is the first movie to make the 70's rock music scene look boring and flat. Six shows in and it's like watching paint dry. Characters are flat, no depth or emotions. It seem they arr there just to collect a check and add something yo their portfolio. Like others have said, the choreography is awesome. The clothing and furnishings are more interesting to watch than the characters or the acting. Amazon is proving once again that Hollywood is dead. They have no creativity, no new ideas. No new inspirations. They just repackage old themes with no sense of why or how the originals worked. It had potential.

Production is good, but story and characters aren't exciting or interesting. Never heard of the book, seems like some sort of Fleetwood Mac fan fiction.

The VH1 interview style thing at the beginning was interesting, but other than that is very blah. Sam Caflin looks like Kenickie in Grease, a 30 year old trying to play a high schooler, he feels out of place compared to the rest of the cast.

The episode started with younger versions of all the characters for a couple scenes but quickly went to the older cast members, which was very confusing. They should have stayed with the younger actors longer or just not done it at all.

For a first episode there wasn't much time spent getting to know the character and setting things up, instead it just seemed like it was rushing past having to introduce the characters, which didn't help with wanted to learn more about them and the story.

Don't think I'll finish the show. I'd rather rewatch 'That Thing You Do!' and maybe a VH1 behind the music special then slog through more episodes of this show.

Soundtrack was good. Patti Smith and Carole King
