Watchseries; I have nothing against Peyton Elizabeth Lee. The problem is that she is just the wrong choice for the role of Doogie because she doesn't look nearly young enough to make the premise of the show work.
Neil Patrick Harris as Doogie Howser worked because he LOOKED LIKE A CHILD he was 16 when the show started, but he could have passed for 12. That's where all the humor and tension and drama of the original show came from.
Lee looks young, sure, but not so young as to be distressing when she offers medical expertise. She could easily pass as a generic 20-something.
With this original sin, the show never had a prayer.

Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. watchseries. I actually very much enjoyed this show. I do not understand why the negative ratings. I didn't expect to be emotionally attached to the characters like I did - her taking the "Doogie" name is incredibly touching.

Not sure why everyone in Hollywood insists on rehashing old hits. They were hits for a reason and their success cannot be duplicated. This is teenage dribble with very little to keep the fans of the O. G. Doogie interested.

Let me start and say, the original Doogie wasn't great, but it was fun and watchable. Now with that, if Disney wanted a medical show just create a family medical show. This isn't Doogie Hauser, well, it is, but isn't. This is more of Grey's Anatomy, minus the love scenes for kiddies.
You know how the original Doogie was played by the legend NPH? This is by a 16 year old girl, taking place in Hawaii, with a female friend instead of a funny little boy. Remember too when Doogie ended the show on his Apple, this incarnation she uggh, uses Tik Tok.
Let's break down something just in the Pilot that would never happen. Doogie is taking her Driver's test, Dad is in the car (why?), sees a person laying by the side of the road, bleeding. She stops, runs to the patient and starts working on this injured woman. Cops then let a 16 year old girl heel her? I know this is FICTION, but come on, make it somewhat believable!
I hate how Disney is " re creating" or " re Imagineering" these franchises for a new, younger audience. Here is a secret, she is called Doogie only because she is young, as I had said, this is a waste of the IP.

Don't believe the haters. It's only been one episode. This could be a really great show. My wife and I never watched the original show so it's fun to be able to watch this together, plus we love all we've seen of Hawaiian culture (from afar, we've never had the fortune to travel there.)

Lots of cliches and forced dialog. Maybe they'll grow into it.
