Based on V.C. Andrews' novels, this limited series tells the origin story of Olivia and Malcolm Foxworth and how dark family secrets shaped the Foxworth family from the very beginning.
Watchseries; The whole thing falls down with the supposition that anyone would fall over themselves for the leading actress., brevity is the soul... am i up to the rquired 150 yet?

Flowers in the Attic: The Origin watchseries. Skip this Mini Series and save yourself 6 hours for something less painful to endure than a root canal! I could only take 56 minutes of waiting for something interesting to happen, never did, pulled the plug. Unlike root canal surgery, I have no pain killers to ease the pain of watching what little I did of "Flowers in the Attic: The Origin"! This mini series belongs in an attic, 'where the memories of the past get put away, to be forgotten'.

Another bludgeoning exercise in sexism, misogyny, etc., brought to you by the experts: Lifetime network.
Disjointed casting, w/ a lead actress that can't stop making this weird "0" shape with her open maw, and who only has half a developed character that's got zero agency (after somehow getting a full personality transplant upon marriage), no self-defense or dignity, other than scraping together the barest of an existence, and, here we go again, she has exactly one ally who's also a powerless and marginalized person in a minority group.
Horribly written, blatantly obvious.

I too grew up on these amazing books of V. C. Andrews. The prequel is even better than the OG that appeared on Lifetime. Damn, near perfection with the high regard of consistency throughout this 4 episode series..Well done Lifetime. Max Irons was phenomenally intoxicating as Malcolm, all because of his good genes Jeremy Irons.

Love that Lifetime did "The Origin" - I read this series years ago and it makes me want to reread them AND it brought me to start watching Lifetime movies which I am NOW hooked on, lol This movie series is done so well, it is dark and twisted with lots of drama. I find myself oddly understanding and feeling sorry for Grandmother - how is this happening. Haha A must watch for people who love drama, suspenseful dark films.
