Watchseries; I just don't understand why there are so many bad reviews on this short series by the amazing Catherine Tate.
Yeah it's not Nan and it's a completely different direction for Catherine.
The characters are believable and easily become familiar.
The storyline is well put together and builds to a brilliant climax.
It left me wanting another series, what more could I ask for!

Hard Cell watchseries. Even though I'm old, I'm a recent convert of Catherine Tates Kool-Aid, except hers leaves me whoooozy from belly laughing so hard... The show is funny, unpredictable and ya don't have to think so long and hard (no pun intended) or get overly acquainted with any one character, there all very talented and funny (#2 is very sharp. Good comedic timing)...and the stage chemistry is unique and there are plenty of "hidden gems", believable impersonators, and no spoiler alerts, but Tate puts her very charming yet hilarious pronunciation of tacos...love how the Brits and Aussies say tacos, not teasing here, but "Tack-ohs"...okay Very funny. I laughed, I felt good, I laughed some more...watch the first episode, only 26 minutes, if sux, 654 channels to go...besides it's getting hot outside, one day we can go out, the next who knows ...I'm eating popcorn, hot dog on Hawaiian Sweet Bread, and Spice Drops...its movie time in "Retirement Alley", right down the street from "Nightmare Alley " Enjoy and thanks.
It's not a great show, but it's a good and reasonably amusing show. I can't help but think that the Daily Mail comments section decided to post one-star reviews for some reason other than the quality of the show. Did Catherine Tate make the Tory Brexiters angry?
Not sure why all the negative reviews. It's not the funniest thing I've ever seen for sure. But it's a fresh take on The Office that's clever and has plenty of laughs.
Zombieland is a great American comedy but the endings when everyone falls in love and kiss each other is why I hate American humour. Plus o watched it recently so it comes to mind, no connection with Hard Cell.
If you like English humour stick with this until the very classical British ending.
First of all... it's British humor. If you don't "get it" or don't like it, then you don't understand it.
This is the show I needed. As a woman, troubled times are a given... whether it be behind bars or not. I found this show to be very funny and refreshing, with a quick pace, and told in a hilarious yet delicate way. Wrapped up in an easy afternoon binge, this one (IMHO) is a winner.
