Carole Baskin, a big cat rescuer, sets out to end roadside zoo operator Joe Exotic's animal shows and cub breeding business, inciting a bitter 10 year feud that threatens both of their livelihoods.
Watchseries; Very disappointing series. Poor writing, casting and direction. The CGI is laughable and John Cameron Mitchell made for a poor Joe Exotic. I expected more. A huge swing and a miss.

Joe vs. Carole watchseries. Well - I've only watched the first episode so far - but so far - I've really enjoyed it! It's about exactly what I'd expect! I'm liking it!!! I'll revise this after I'm a few more episodes in!

Even though this story has been milked to it's full I still wanted to watch the show as it's almost a guilty pleasure. Sadly this show is a big let down. Apart from the terrible CGI and I mean terrible, there is something that just doesn't work, it simply doesn't click.
Disappointed for sure.

But there's no chemistry in this show. It's boring. They picked an unknown actor to play Joe and I just wasn't feeling it. Kate as Carole is weird. This will be canceled in no time.

Oh, March of 2020, the one and only month it seems like the entire world took the pandemic seriously.
Owing to that, the world was a collective captive audience, leading to programs being elevated that might not otherwise would have been.
The documentary this series was based on was popular only because people were desperate for content at time. My proof? 2 more documentaries on the topic were released by Netflix in 2021, and nobody cared anymore. Did you watch those other ones? Did anyone?
Now, here comes 2022, and we finally get the arbitrary "show based on the thing that was popular." This almost never works anyway, especially about such a recent event, but how anyone thought this series was money well spent boggles my mind. It's based on something nearly everyone watched when it happened, and that people stopped caring about 1 1/2 years ago.
Talk about late to the party. This series reminds me of a job I worked at where we did an "Ice bucket" challenge video...in the spring of 2016.
Why would you make an entire series based on a thing that everyone already knows the outcome of?

I think a lot of people will agree that Kate McKinnon and John Cameron Mitchell nailed Carole Baskin & Joe Exotic. They got the look and voices down to a T. As far as the show goes. Don't go into it expecting it to be as good as the docu-series. If you do, you're going to be disappointed. The documentary was pure gold, the show, not so much. Dont get me wrong, it's still a decent show. It just doesn't compare to the docu-series. 6 stars.
