Watchseries; Not a fan of Amy Schumer as a comedian, so I wasn't expecting to like this much. I was surprised at how much I like the characters, the storylines, the memories and decision-making in the show. Several episodes in, I will watch to the end and hope for more.

Life and Beth watchseries. If you liked Fleabag, you should also like this show that's clearly a bit inspired by it.
Amy Schumer is very good and engaging but I wish the writing was a little sharper. It's not always as funny as it thinks it is. The emotional drama is better fleshed out than the comedy that's sometimes heavy on caricatural characters and sidekicks. Michael Cera is amazing though.
But this is a really enjoyable and fun show and also a breath of fresh air in the current TV obsession with anything true crime.

I've always enjoyed Amy's wry humor and loved Trainwreck. Unfortunately, this series seems to revisit Amy's comedy heyday with mixed results.
It's a familiar story about Beth, a woman in a relationship with some quirky jerk. Unsatisfied with her life, she randomly meet some quirky, kind guy. When not talking about life at length with her quirky friends, she pursues the quirky, kind guy. All of this happens at a snails' pace with various quirky situations and side characters thrown in. It's just a bit too much after a while. None of the relationships ring true and the plot is full of ridiculous points that also don't make much sense. A flash mob proposal after a funeral? C'mon, guys.
While this is slow (probably too slow for a younger audience), I like that the story takes its time to develop and some attention is paid to the mood of the scenes with great camerawork. Amy isn't in top form and I think she may have "aged out" of the role she's been playing for the last 15 years - it seems more suited to someone in their 20s/early 30s. I'd love to see her play the mother she is and bring her unique perspective to that situation.
Life & Beth proves that while Amy is down, there's enough spark to prove that she's not out.

Although I don't relate to the situations at all I felt them. This is a very honest and raw experience and it was superbly delivered. The characters were perfect and it's as if you really got to know them. The pain and joy were so authentic and written perfectly. What a nice series!

I am confused by the dumpster fire of reviews here. I am convinced the crap reviews are from people that just hate Amy Schumer and didn't watch.
This show is much more mature and heartfelt than some of her other entries. Of course you have to like her style, but if you do you will like this show. There is a good mix of outright laughs, sadness, and some toned down comedy. It's worth a watch.

All the reviews I "can see" here are praising the show yet the overall rating is low and those stellar reviews are complaining about all the negative reviews I apparently can "no longer see".....I guess you get what's going on here LOL
Great effort by Hulu for making a safe space for everybody portrayed in this show, kudos! I hope they're just making as strong profits too. Real revolutionary stuff. Artistic expression at its best , especially the shower scene. As par with Mona Lisa, congratulations to everyone involved, except those who used to oversee shows before putting them out. But who needs those nuisances, good riddance.
