Midnight at the Pera Palace (2022)

Watchseries; I thought before I had watched this series that it is combination of Outlander , Umbrella Academy , but now I really appreciate it now. This series is fundamantelly different from other turkish series on Netflix. It has own storyline, script which I have never seen before. First of all time travel is much more conplicated issue and of course that'a why it is a little bit normal too see some mistakes. But this series make it perfect. I think people have to support these types of series in order to improve these kind of series. About acting performance is mediocre. Although some people think that Hazal Kaya's performance is low and unsatisfactory, in my opinion it was good. So Keep going Hazal Kaya. Both storyline and actor's performnaces can be improved. And about costume design and general ambiance of series are perfect. Love from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷

Midnight at the Pera Palace watchseries. Rated this 7 because as a Turkish person living in Istanbul, I enjoyed watching the people and streets as they were (imagined by the show's producers) a century ago. Both acting and the script is so-so. I doubt most non-Turkish people would understand and enjoy many nuances in this show and enjoy it as much. I reckon I would rate it at most 5 if I were non-Turkish. However, while Netflix productions in Turkey with historic elements are not so great either, they are better than most other similar locally produced shows in terms of attention to detail and genuineness.

Storyline from Outlanders, Soundtrack from Game of Thrones how sad is it.

Hazal Kaya's acting and use of Turkish language is pathetic, wrong grammar and low class words.

The idea is great, but they failed keeping genuine and not stealing from other shows, as well as Ms Kaya's acting.

This show is genius. At the beginning when i saw the trailer i felt it's ridiculous, i was not going to watch it. But then when I started watching it gets better! Slow burning but it's worth it. Especially the last 2 episodes (9&10) where amazing. I hope the 2nd season be released soon! BTW usually I dislike turkish series, especially because of the language but I'm thankful and grateful for watching it on NETFLIX, because I watched it with English audio which was great and fun. I loved it! And thank you netflix, i love you you're the best streaming app!!!

But there was no excitement with this series. It was hard to believe to script and directing, which did not help actors with their roles. Very weak, very boring 8x45 minutes. Hotel looked great.

The theme is so unique and script almost perfect. I watched the first couple of episodes holding my breath only to see the poor performance by Hazal. Unfortunately it's a shame to see that such a wonderful theme has just gone waste with such a poor performing lead like her. Five stars is for theme's sake!
