Set after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans, revealing that monsters are real, follows one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to Monarch.
Watchseries; So I just finished watching Episode 5 and I am not impressed. I was hoping much more than a teen melodrama for modern audiences.
There are two reasons why I've kept watching it. Kurt Russell and Godzilla are what drew me to the show and so far neither have been used much in your monster movie.
If I wanted to see a bunch of kids wandering around demolished buildings I would have watched some Urban Explorer videos online. I had to start/stop Episode 5 quite a few times because I kept losing interest so much I chose toI watch grass grow and paint dry.
I'm going to try my best to finish watching this season but I'm not holding my breath.
Do better.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters watchseries. "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" attempts to weave an intricate tale of mythical creatures but falls short of its potential. The series suffers from a lackluster storyline, unrelatable characters, and a scarcity of the promised monsters, leaving viewers craving more. The script struggles to find depth, resulting in a confusing and shallow narrative. Unfortunately, the acting fails to elevate the material, making it challenging to invest in the story. Ultimately, with its telenovela-like feel and numerous shortcomings, the show currently falls short of delivering an engaging experience, warranting a 4/10 rating.

I was beyond excited when I first heard about this series and when the teasers dropped I just couldn't wait. The start of the show was decent, it had interesting angles and introduction to the new monsters then all of the sudden the story just nose dived right into boredom. Characters just roaming around, they're not discovering any new monsters or fighting them or trying to survive. All 3 main characters stories and backgrounds are total fail. The actors are not too good, the storyline is beyond weak and makes you lose interest rather quickly
. I hope they can improve drastically as the time goes by but I'm sure this is not worth buying Apple TV subscription.

To be honest, I have zero expectations & interest in todays movies. And there are only a few series that is interesting enough to endure. Monarch is... was a tv show that excited me after along time. I awaited for it to begin. Yes it began with... a little Godzilla and... very annoying woke characters. I tried to overlook them - especially Kate & May characters.
Then as of 5th episode the show has turned into a pile of garbage - one that even Godzilla cannot lift! Even Kurt Russell - who does his best - can't save this mess. Hopefully these first 5 episodes are veeeery unnecessary & long entrance and after this point we begin to see more exciting things - like Godzilla for Gods sake!!

This show so far has been an unbalanced mess. It doesn't know what it wants to be and it is all over the place. The wokee-woke undertones, which seem to come to the forefront more and more often, surely don't help matters. The show is trying to be epic, but oftentimes it falters in that. The two separate timelines while interesting as a storytelling concept, fail in the execution and end up being a drag.
With the exception of Wyatt and Kurt Russell, the rest of the cast ranges from mediocre to awful. Especially Kiersey Clemons as May (whose character is entirely superfluous and completely useless in the series), Anna Sawai as Cate Randa and Ren Watabe as Kentaro Randa, are just awful (the actors and the characters), boring, annoying and just complete turn-offs. The special effects as well are soo uneven, they range from good to just really amateurish and unpolished looking.
Somewhere underneath this mess lurks a show that might have been decent and interesting or (gasp) even good, but it is buried under soo much garbage that it ends up being dragged down to the lowest level. I don't think that there's too much hope for this series to redeem itself. Lets remember that this is Apple TV Plus after all! Personally, I don't care enough to stick around and find out...

This show is full of unlikeable characters that disengage their brain. The only likeable character was Du Ho.
Otherwise it's girl bosses and girls getting it done in true Mary Sue fashion while a bunch of guys are there for muscle when needed. This applies to both the good team and the bad team.
Is it possible to write female characters these days without making them girl bosses?
Probably not.
Cate is completely unlikeable and acts like this whole adventure was something unfairly inflicted on her. May the same.
The two guys trying their best to rescue the show... And the dynamic female duo... Are doing their best but they can't rescue either.
Jumping off this at episode 4. It won't get better. The ingredients are not here. There is nobody to root for. Except maybe Godzilla... If he ever makes more than a split second appearance.
