Centers on Ingrid Yun, an idealistic young lawyer, struggles with her moral compass and her passions as she fights to climb the partner track at an elite New York City law firm.
Watchseries; The story is not that bad, quite a stereotypical story about ruthless lawyers and quite predictable, but my god the acting is beyond terrible especially Arden Cho's. Apparently the only thing she is capable of doing is sighing, give falsely intense stares and doing a lot of fake smiles (even when the smiles are supposed to be authentic..). The supporting cast (her office friends) was a bit better but could not save the show.
And don't get me started on the music. Felt like a bad teenage soap and made the whole thing even more cringy.
It really spoilt the whole experience and that's a shame because it is enjoyable to see Asian female leads for once.
Watch it without any expectation, it's an average brain dump for when you are exceedingly bored.

Partner Track watchseries. The acting is one dimensional and the dialogue for the most part doesn't sound realistic. To be fair though I only got through the first two episodes. It is a pretty show, the cinematography showcasing the posh parts of Manhattan. The wardrobe department putting the actors in lovely clothes. Unfortunately it feels as about as deep as Emily In Paris but without any sort of knowing wink at the audience. In other words it takes itself too seriously. I recognize that a show realistically detailing a corporate law firm would be a massive snooze fest but this feels like a total fantasy. And not in a trashy fun way like I was hoping. I was expecting a superficial, light but fun show about young, pretty people. But it was just so boring. And the "villain/love interest" was just so cartoonish.
I give them credit for placing this in the world of mergers & acquisitions though. They don't make it a fascinating place but at least it's not yet another show about publishing.

The question of the day is: How did this show get a 6.8? I've seen much better shows with lower rates.
First of all the acting is so so bad, like they've hired people right out of acting class (a bad one at that). Not only that, the lines are sloppy to the point where I had to say "who talks like that" kore than one.
Overall it's just, so so so bad. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes at the screen. Do not spend your time. As a lawyer (an M&A lawyer) I am offended that someone thinks this is how it works because it so does not.
The book might be good but the show is even worse than Love / Life.
Please cancel.

One more Law firm for Romantics that are not willing to see something well detailed, well built , well developed . Good for people that don't want to think match . Good to make noise in the living room at night .
Everything is obvious, already done , and repeated:
Friends that will fight and resolve it the best way possible . Bosses that are cold and heartless. Money speaking louder . Nice people against the money people . Uh. Same old same repeated in a very well dressed way .
Main character has more dumb decisions than the remain cast - if someone is really that good, would be doing the things she is doing in her private life ?
Even her sister - the story line and decisions , are for real ??? The earrings situation is just ridiculously unbelievably dumb.
Oh Morphy (poor Dominic). The actor is always overacting , to a point where his sexy-face is just ridiculous . At the end of the season he gets better but never good .
Regarding the remaining cast , better actors but struggling with the lack of content and development . Trapped in a fragile story where bad decisions need to happen to create more episodes because, to be sincere, there's a fragile and ridiculous story that will. It survive by itself .

I'd never seen anything about this show, but It appeared on my feed - love Netflix' algorithm - so gave it a go and whilst it's not insightful, it's fun.
I like all the characters, they're pretty to look at and the dialogue is quite witty.
Definitely an old vs young vibe about it.
Each episode keeps your attention and it's great for a binge!
If you want easy watching and to have a smile on your face, then this is for you.
More to it that Emily in Paris, but in the same vein with great outfits for all.
If you're looking for deep, groundbreaking show with life lessons, it's probably worth swerving!
I loved it.

Disclaimer: I couldn't get through the first episode. Maybe it gets better. Highly doubt it though.

It's just a huge mess of clichés and we've seen it millions of times before, with 0 added value. It was boring and laughable. The acting is just horrible on all accounts. Everyone's ridiculously and unrealistically attractive. It's cheesy and corny and not even slightly engaging.
I guess if all these speak to you then by all means, watch it and enjoy. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
There's really nothing more to write about this nothing sandwich but I have to make the 600 character count, so there.
