Watchseries; I'm surprised Netflix even produced this show. This show is basically every hallmark movie I've ever seen mixed into one. So predictable and unbelievable cliche filled. So much talk about being good. Meeh.. too much

Sweet Magnolias watchseries. I just binged this show and I love it! These storylines are not compelling in the least and everything is SUPER predictable but it's a nice feel-good show. This seems like a Netflix attempt at producing a Hallmark show. I love JoAnna Garcia and as others have mentioned, this show shares similarities with Reba, though somehow, they could not be more different. Brooke Elliott is an absolute delight. Her character is a bit brash but if you know her from Drop Dead Diva, it is hard not to like her. I wasnt familiar with Heather Headley or Logan Allen but they are both decent actors, probably the best in the show. One of my favorite things about this show is all of these actors with their HORRIBLE attempts at a southern accent!! Brooke Elliott's just makes me laugh so hard but the cherry on the cake of this show is how ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Chris Klein is in it. His acting sucks but his accent.. omg.. I laugh every single time! If you like hokey, over-the-top cheesy, sentimental tv.. then give this a watch! If you want to laugh and roll your eyes at some bad tv, then again, give this a watch!

This series is underrated. You pretty much have to watch it from the beginning to understand the characters and to know what is going on. The plot is three women who grew up in a small town called Serenity who became known as the Sweet Magnolias. It follows their friendship and their relationships and how they learn to handle situations better. The cliffhanger at the end of season 2 pretty much left the door open for season 3 which I hope Netflix gives the green light to. This series is worth watching.

Some reviewer's are comparing "Sweet Magnolia's" to Hallmark movies/shows. Yeah, a little along those lines, but it's refreshing to watch something that isn't offensive. I did like some of the characters better than others, which is natural. I must say that Ms. Garcia-Swisher looks like she did 20 years ago when she starred in "Reba". She looks like she should be in high school instead of the mother of three. Way to go! There were plot lines that I preferred to follow more so than others, including Noreen waking up about Bill. What a jerk to both woman. Can we say male mid life crisis? I did get irritated with Dana Sue's on again off again temper. Anything could set her off. Pick a side. Helen, I liked. She was solid in almost any situation. Maddie's mom, Paula, is a hoot. More of her please in season 2. I could not stand the son of the mayor. What and ass with a capital A, but he does the part well, since I dislike him immensely. All, and I mean all, of the younger actresses and actors were fabulous. All of them, right down to Katie are very natural and not forced in any way. Kudos to the younger performers! Serenity is a place that friendships are strong, but not without the gossip and drama.

I really wanted to get into this show because I loved Brooke Elliot from Drop Dead Diva but I couldn't watch more than 38 minutes of the pilot. Pilots are supposed to get you hooked. This one made me seek excitement elsewhere. I'm going back to watching crime dramas.

Three women are the center of the story and the handsome men have small parts, typical of this type of series it's all about the women. Similar to Netflix other chick series, "Virgin River". Like a Hallmark or Lifetime movie, predictable and formulaic full of soapy drama. Locations are nice and the cast and crew made some money in these tough times.
