Watchseries; I have to say that The Peripheral was definitely better than I thought it was going to be. This show had me hooked from the beginning. I wasn't expecting so much action. The writing and special effects were also great making this one of the better sci-fi series of the entire year. I'm not saying it's the best sci-fi series this year but it's definitely up there. Some people are saying the story is a little hard to follow but I didn't find that to be true at all. You definitely have to pay attention and if you do that it's fine. It's just not a show where you can be doing other things and not give your full attention. Jack Reynor and Chloe Grace Moretz were both excellent as the leads here. I can't wait for season two.

The Peripheral watchseries. Finally, fans of cyberpunk get an adaptation by ground-breaking author William Gibson. Granted, it's not "Neuromancer" and the TV series does not follow exactly the plot of the book of the same name. Still, the adaptation is quite good - in large part to very good acting especially by Chloe Grace Moretz - and gets going very quickly from the beginning.
What's good: I'm only three episodes in, but already I am invested in what's happening. Pacing, plot, dialogue, acting, set design, etc. - they're all good. We the audience get bits and pieces of the situation at the same time as Flynne, Moretz's character. That's very good writing from Scott Smith, who hasn't done a lot of noteworthy works (aside from "A Simple Plan"), but who has clearly demonstrated talent and skill here.
Overall, I'm glad to see Moretz in a production worthy of her acting ability, and an adaptation of Gibson's work that is equally worthy of his genre-defining stories.

Easy to Binge Watch. There's not a lot of shows or series that have the "virtual reality" concept in them this one did a great job with it. A great syfy series that stands up well. I really like the futuristic tech in the show, it's creative and just comes across as "cool". Chloe Grace Moretz has always been a well loved actress for me, she has so much talent and knows how to shine on screen. I was really happy when I saw that she was going to act in the series as the lead, and she did not disappoint. The cast was great and beautifully balanced. The story was intriguing and the syfy was great. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the show, was that in the first two episodes the series came out swinging and strong, then it slowed right down to very little action and a lot of story telling and character building. Then near the very end it picked up again. It became a bit slow for my taste in the middle, but still a great show witth a fascinating plot. I hope they keep making more!

I liked the setup of the first episode, after that the wheels fell off. The soap opera "present day"-parts are really boring. The story is all over the place, and so is the pacing of the episodes. There is no sense of urgency, and it's so hard to get a grip of what's at stake for there to be real suspense.
I like Chloë Grace Moretz, but she isn't even in this that much, considering she is supposed to be the main character.
The IMDB score is at the the time of writing 8.3 which obviously is padded by a lot. A more realistic score would be in the 6-7 range. It used to be 8.7 which probably was a big reason why people checked this series out in the first place. Shameful of IMDB to look the other way and/or receive money to lie to their users this way. But also understandable right now when the current subscription model of streaming services is starting to collapse. How much longer will one be able to trust IMDB for ratings?

Literally just finished the first 2 episodes and it's quarter to six odd in the morning here in England and I have to say I loved it, well worth staying up for.
Chloe grace Moretz was brilliant, just like she is in most things.
Some other really good actors in this as well, especially Burton obviously (not going to lie, I don't know all their names yet) but good performances all round if I'm honest. CGI is brilliant too, so much so I got seriously freaked out (The eyeball) .
Good story and premise so far and I haven't read the book and I don't read forums about shows I'm watching, so no spoilers for me lol!
And if you're like me and want escapism from a show, like any successful show of the past 10 years has been, then this will work a treat!
I know it's only 2 episodes, so my review might change come the end of the series, but if you like Westworld you'll like this too (yes it's made by the same person, or something along those lines, not 100% sure) actually if you like sci-fi at all; this is worth watching.
Will definitely be carrying on with this!
8/10 so far but like I say that could change by the end of the series up or down...and I'm thinking up!

The show started well with its awesome london shots with the towering statues etc. The first episode grabbed attention and seemed to be going somewhere but it quickly reduced itself to standard boring tropes.
The baddies are one dimensional cliches, the brother and sister main characters aren't as interesting and detailed as they could have been and reduce themselves to bickering over who's going to do what without telling the other.
Episode 3 wasa real drag to get through and may be the last episode I watch.
Chloe Grace Moretz disappointingly doesn't break her losing streak with this character. It's a well produced but ultimately boring show.
