Watchseries; The rookie is/was a great show about starting over. About moving to bigger things to help others. Kinda like a feel good story. Then comes in this hot mess. Good idea. But when you constantly use race to push some of the dumbest ghetto stereotypes there are. And place them as a federal agent you start to wonder what sort of drug do the producers.
The dynamics of this show is pure garbage. He is a strong hard poc then soft to her father that has the opposite principles. Disobedient federal agents that's constantly praised for failing fwd and not doing what is told. All while a rookie in training.

The Rookie: Feds watchseries. I have dealt with actual Feds for many years now, and not once have I ever seen an on-duty female federal officer sport twenty-eight pounds of breasts inside a military-weapons-grade push-up bra in a low-cut dress. Russ Meyer would be proud; J. Edgar Hoover would not.
And then there's THIS within the first minute:
Female student: "Oh my god, I've had a crush on you since my Freshman year."
Female agent: "Okay, Hanna, I'm flattered, but that's wildly inappropriate."
Female student: "Oh, no, not YOU, Miss Clarke; I'm talking about Vampire Cop. I just loved you so much on that show. Is there any chance they're going to reboot it?"
Male agent: "Well, not with me. My acting days are over..."
And then nothing further said about her crush or its degree of appropriateness.
So it's "wildly inappropriate" to say it to another woman, but perfectly okay to say it to a man? 1965 much? Let's just put a pin in that one for later consideration, if you like.
In the following scene, immediately after the opening credits, we begin to see the remaining trajectory of this series: cleavage, cleavage, cleavage delivered with a frustratingly stereotypical "hey HEY hey?!" and comedic hijinx more worthy of a series about inner-city homeboys on the old UPN.
Abandon all hope.

Watched the first two episodes and I'm not impressed. The Rookie is an entertaining series that is mostly drama with some comedic moments, it's a nice blend with some quirky cases. Some episodes have bombed and some story arcs are boring, but it's mostly good.
Rookie Feds is a comedy with a comedian Niecy Nash in the lead. A little bit of Niecy goes a long way, she overpowers scenes and it's all about her, which is boring. The character Simone Clark was interesting in The Rookie, but it didn't deserve a spin off. I like some of the cast, Felix Solis, James Lesure, Britt Robertson, Kevin Zegers and of course the crossover characters from The Rookie series.
Nathan Fillion and the rest of the cast are good in The Rookie because no one dominates scenes, Fillion is the star and lead character, but his personality doesn't overpower everyone else. Seems like most of the police procedurals have moved to other US cities mainly NYC. LA needs more and deserves it being America's #2 city.

It's true, this is one of the worst shows I've seen. The acting by the lead is just atrocious, Niecy or whatever her name is. I don't know how she even has the willpower to even read her lines. It's so so bad. They must be paying her alot of money to do this show. Also, she has her boobs out the entire time. Massive things they are. I don't know if she got paid extra to do that too. It's literally too much and covers more than half the screen. None of the cast even acknowledges she just has them out! The one cast member I liked was Michelle, and she was only there for like 5 minutes. She usually gets peoples' lunch orders. That's her thing and I love it. Maybe the show could've been good if it was two grannies as feds like that one British show or whatever. Edit: Just watched episode 2, they somehow managed to show even more of her boobs. I didn't even realize there was more of them. It was like that image of an iceberg and what we saw in episode 1 was just the tip. She literally had six buttons unbuttoned. I've never seen anyone unbutton more than three buttons ever, on anything. I'm actually amazed. The show's sellpoint is literally this? She even seduces people now? ABC, what are you doing? But you know what, I just realized the show is okay to watch if you're drunk. And maybe if you're one of those new season The Rookie fans cause that's how crazy this show is already. I upped the score by one. But that doesn't make it good. There were some The Rookie cameos but it felt so forced, and like the actors didn't want to be there at all. The writers also seem to be forcing chemistry between two characters already. I don't even know their names yet. But one dude is a famous actor turned FBI agent- I know, his backstory is actually wackier but that's a spoiler. Anyway, it's some sideplot about them figuring out what their profiles are. Ew, bad flirting. Also, corny as hell. Stop please. ABC, why are you doing this? Niecy is literally enough. Go back to her. Somehow those two are worse than her character. I never want to see them again or together in the same room. They have negative chemistry between each other. Like no, I don't want to see the two blandest white people on existence get together, ABC. (I'm hoping he's gay so they throw away that idea completely.) Can't wait for the third episode. Edit: She said it's about the vibe, not the gender. Funniest stuff I've heard on ABC. Ironically love this. 3/10, only because I hate Katie so much. I hope she dies.

I love The Rookie. It's an underrated show. When Niecy Nash guested, I found her to much more digestible than her normally irritating persona. That said, it was a decent arc/guest spot, but not worthy of a spin off.
The pilot was not strong and it lacked all of the elements that made her guest spot entertaining. I like her Felix, could have used much more of him and s and James Lesure, but Britt didn't come close to fitting in and the Vampire Cop stuff was 100% disposable. I'm already tired of the dynamic between Niecy and her dad. If they want this to be a series and not a gimmick, that won't last. Make Niecy the Underdog like Nathan was on the original. Dial the dizziness down and make her legitimately bright, verse this streetwise hustler and give Felix and James more to do. I think Niecy may be far too petite to buy in this roles and with her curvaceous figure, I don't see her running or appearing tough, so it's really going to be a hard sell. This would have been a much better fit for a Regina Hall, but based on what I have seen so far, I'd be surprised if we get an entire season.

Can TV get any dumber? ABC just proved it! Yes! From the disgusting clothes to her underacting ability it's worthless. Waste of screen time and thus my time. I'm out!
The Rookie leans on improbable but has some good actors and meh scripts. But this monstrosity should not be given an opportunity to show the next episode. Ms Nash was bad enough in the pilot - what idiot is wasting their money on this tripe. Sad to see Steven Culp drawn into this garbage.
Is there one scene that doesn't show her bra about to self-destruct? Yet they dress down the new guy for an "inappropriate suit." What idiot wrote this stuff?
Please save the slot on ABC for something worthwhile. Cause this isn't it. Chase scenes so stupid.
I'm sort for anyone who felt they had to work on this garbage. "I was young - I needed the money" is no excuse!!
