Watchseries; Good opening episode to the series. There is a lot to set up with a whole town of new characters and for the most part it was very entertaining.
Our main protagonist is 14 year old Jake, who lives with his father after its revealed his mother died in a car crash. The main topic of conversation about Jake is that he's gay, from literally every character in the show to just about everyone reviewing the show. But the more interesting/weird thing about Jake to me is he literally has no friends. I guess you could put it down to his mother's death. But there is no evidence (yet), that he ever had friends and he seems like a normal friendly kid. So its hard to fathom. It was also great that Jake wasn't a hollywood - Yaz Queen - stereotype. That gets old quickly.
I also liked this version of Chucky. Especially the face shots. He looked like he was made of actual hard plastic. Like he used to in the early movies. It was well done.
Out of all the cast, some of the standouts and more interesting characters are :
The highlight scene was probably the talent show, where Jake and Chucky do a ventriloquist act.
We also get our first kill which sets up a new status quo. But with 10 episodes, I'm ok with that.
I gave it a 7 to begin - but I'm sure when all the fan favorites start returning its going to get crazy. I know Don loves his continuity and Easter eggs so I cant wait to see what he has in store for us.

Chucky watchseries. The concept of an episodic series is good, and it seems like they are not going to drag out the story. Some very decisive actions have occurred just in the first episode.
The big drawback for me? Some of the action occurs at a school. As a public school teacher, I can tell you that the writer has only seen schools on a screen and never in real life. The school scenes border on fantasy.
Also, more points removed for profanity. The inclusion of certain words to make the series "edgy" is simply ridiculous. Oh, look! They said _ _ _ _! What a stroke of genius! That's never been done before!
I just cant wait for the next episode everything seems to be perfect the doll was so cool brad sounded nice and in general I really liked it.
I just hope to continuous this way I'm ready for many kills.
"Chucky" is a very surprisingly enjoyable show. It's got all the things you'd want to see in a Child's Play show. With fun gore, quick pacing, and some surprisingly good messages. This show is heading in the right direction
Starting off with the good. The acting is really good. Everyone in the show plays the role either really well, or so over the top that it works for this source material. Of course Brad Dourif is great once again as Chucky. The show also has great pacing. The first episode moved very quickly. I also liked how funny the show was. There were quite a few jokes that made me laugh. And finally this show really incorporates great messages about, bullying, and LGBT. I think that's a very great thing to talk about, and it added some nuance to the characters
I have a few issues with the show. The style of the show while great, at times can get a little too much. And it kinda feels like they're struggling to balance that comedy, and horror. And finally I don't think it's necessary to retell Chucky's backstory.
But still aside from that "Chucky" is a really fun, and promising series with good acting, fast pacing, some great callbacks, and some really great messages that help the show feel more nuanced.
We should report trolls who just want this to be like first Movie. And guess what it's more in the approach of the first two movies than any of the sequels. For that. And with just one episode so far. They really had me and I can't wait for next episode. Big improvement by Devon Sawa who look fantastic as twins in this.
OMG! This show is so freakin awesome!!! Just to be honest, I haven't seen a chucky movie ever but was really excited to watch this series and I just loved it. If you didn't like this show, just don't tell Chucky that.
