Willie Kerns tells Matt Charlie Hacker lives two miles due south of the Cedar Tank Relay Station in Texas. Charlie did a big mail robbery five years back, and killed Johnny Willis, a friend of Matt's. Matt wants the $2000 on Hacker's head for Johnny's widow. Matt takes the stage to Cedar Tank and buys a horse. Matt tells Hacker he's under arrest. Hacker busts Matt with a chair
